I have a new friend named Debbie,
A designer extraordinaire.
She asked for a poem to put on her “webbie”
So I’ll relate what she recently did to my lair.

My apartment was white and looked very sterile,
Not a dab of color in it anywhere.
I wanted it changed, bordering on feral,
And I knew that Debbie was up to the dare.

Walls were all painted, with contrast in mind.
Earth tones were used, and some walls went “green”.
Appropriate furniture was not easy to find,
For we wanted cool stuff, something new on the scene.

Debbie knew precisely what piece should go where,
And as the project progressed, I was pleased to see
That she’s in the right business and has quite a flare
For what’s right and what’s not, and she worked hard to please me.

Accessories? You bet! Unique lamps, mirrors and art.
Also plants, flowers, and knick-knacks enhance the décor.
All the wonderful changes have brought joy to my heart,
And the job she’ll do for you will be “Wunderbar”!

Since 1990 Debbie Sheaf has assisted me in decorating two homes. One, a contemporary house with an open plan, many glass doors and an oriental themed decor. The second, a traditional but expanded ranch home, with a traditional decor. Debbie's skill, personal warmth, and

Our remodel project consisted of a complete renovation of our entire condo. Wow! It was quite extensive and changed our home from a very dated 1970's look to a light and bright getaway that we love.

We were already working with our contractor, and needed a designer to help with the many detailed  items yet to be done.  It was clear that Debbie had many years of design experience, and great ideas which is critical in a designer. This is what you're paying for... certainly not trial and error.
During our remodel/design process Debbie brought to our attention Universal Design and Aging in Place. Through her knowledge we made changes (or shall I say provisions since we will never get old…lol) for what might be needed in the future. What cost us little now, would have cost us a bundles down the road.

Debbie always came to our meetings totally prepared. She had our color swatches, fabrics pieces, a carpet sample etc ... Things you need when you are out making decisions. Debbie had a way of helping us "zero in” on the right choice. That's what we learned on this project ... details make the difference and that's when a designer like Debbie is well worth her weight in gold.

Doing a remodel is never easy, but in my opinion there is no substitute for a great designer. Debbie Sheaf & Associates is well worth the money.
